Molly Sturge is a 22-year-old artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia, based in Montreal, Quebec. She is in her final year of her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, with a major in Painting and Drawing. Molly’s work explores the interplay of symbols, memory, and femininity, drawing from a personal aesthetic, she uses a collage method to generate the paintings. Collected images, drawings, and text serve as fragmented narratives—an assemblage of moments and meanings that reflect both the intimate and the universal. The work explores the power of symbols to evoke memory. By curating a visual vocabulary, she aims to leave space for viewers to construct their own narratives, engaging with the work in a way that resonates uniquely with their experiences.
